I know it sounds stupid, but even at 16, I never saw an end to Skyler Stice being in my life. It's not like I thought I was going to marry him. That came later. But I guess I just never saw things going south.
He first held my hand as we were exiting Lagoon, heading back to his car. Seriously. You can't make these things up. We had been dating for 2 months and I still like holding his hand as much as I did that warm, summer night.
