Going gone

Last night in London. Of course I headed to my bench at Westminster Pier to say a proper goodbye to my home of the past month.

Tomorrow we head out to see Northern England and Scotland for our last week and a half. It's hard to believe that this is almost over. I remember flying into Ireland just over a month ago wide-eyed and terrified. Things are a little different now. Here's a small excerpt from a recent journal entry:
London is about breathing. It is about missing trains and cramming onto the Tube. London is about acting the part - shut up about being American. Keep to yourself. Walk on the left side of the sidewalk. Lose the baseball cap and the free BYU t-shirts. London is about street performers and licking ice cream cones. It is about spending money and making mistakes. It is about losing track of time and napping in the park. London is about walking through the rain with no umbrella and watching couples snog. So stop seeing London through your camera lens and just breathe it all in.
